Week of Workouts

I’m just 1 person who just keeps going. Making a habit out of working out has been so important to me. I thrive on routine and knowing what to expect, so working out every day around lunchtime breaks up my day but also helps to structure it. This week, I had some mid-day meetings, so some of my workouts were shorter than I would have liked them to have been. But, still, I managed to work out those days.

On Thursday, after my post-workout shower, I had lunch and stood up to find that I couldn’t stand. There was a sharp pain in my right knee, and it suddenly couldn’t support my weight. I limped around to test it, and couldn’t do even that much. So I hopped around from room to room for a little while before I remembered I had crutches. I kept my weight off it the rest of the day, worrying that it might mean I would need to go back to physical therapy for it. But when I woke up on Friday morning, I realized almost all of the pain was gone. I was thrilled to put the crutches away. However, I did go easy on my knees that day. I went low-impact on any exercises that might aggravate my knees again. I look forward to working back up to regular workouts, but not until I’m sure I’m strong enough for them. I’m lucky that I was able to keep up my workout habit and keep going.
